About

Hello! I’m Camille, a full time speech therapist and a part time traveler. I am a Christian, of the Mennonite variety, currently living in Queens, New York. I admit, Mennonites in the city is a bit of a paradox, but I find humans to be the most interesting part of God’s creation, and they do tend to gather here.

Trips by Camille grew out of a love for travel and the extrovert in me, wanting to share travel with others. I enjoy travel planning and often find myself taking charge to solve problems when I’m in groups. Having been to 30+ countries and counting, I have learned that it’s impossible to anticipate everything; but so far, all the problems have been solvable. My special skills include urban navigation, remaining calm in unexpected situations, and finding ice cream in every city I visit. I like when trips have a variety of iconic sites and local experiences, with a mix of affordable, but fun.

My goals in traveling are 1. To build relationships with the people I travel with. Travel is a unique opportunity to spend a lot of quality time with quality people. No man is an island, and I think travel is more fun when you can share the joy of it with others. 2. To learn. About the places I’m visiting and the people who make that place home. God has made quite an interesting planet that we call home and it’s a joy to get to discover it. 3. For variety. Life and its routines quickly become predictable. Travel is a great way to break up the monotony. It helps us enjoy what we have when we come back to it and gives us fresh ideas to incorporate.

So, that’s what Trips by Camille is- it’s just me, Camille, deciding to proactivity find a way to see and share the world with people who’d like to share it with me. Thank you for stopping by!
